Here’s to the Cavalry

Flowers for the women leading on the jagged edge of the AI frontier.

In this personal toast to the women at CREATE and beyond, Anne Murphy shares stories of the women she’s come to know through She Leads AI. Taken together, the positive impact of this community is remarkable.

Anne will shout out:

• Michelle Swift is a one-woman AI governance department for a 200-person company. Thirteen policies to roll out. And the guts to slow things down to get them right.
• Michele Williams built two custom AI apps and is developing a learning platform for an organization with 85,000 volunteers.
• Noemi Reyes is building an AI education business while holding down a government IT career. Teaching and launching one new thing after another.
• Jacqueline Odom Campbell spent 30 years in HR, started building with AI, and immediately began teaching other women to do the same.
• Krysti Nellermoe is helping refugee communities shape the technology and education designed to serve them.

Anne and Don began gathering people from across the AI community in 2023, and a lot has happened since. But the relationships have been the most important part—getting to know these women and watching them use their agency to forge new paths and make AI bend to their will.

Through personal stories and a few observations of her own, Anne gives these women their flowers and celebrates the influence they’re having on one another.
